John Rodney Shearer 1944
| John was born at Waverley the only boy in a family of three. He was married in 1964 and there are three children of the marriage,Jody, Darren and Paul. In 1977 John was elected to the Ryde Council and in the same year was made deputy mayor of the Council. At that time John was employed by the Sydney County Council.He considered his election to the Ryde Council a triumph after three previous election campaigns of being unsuccessful. John’s father Col was a career naval officer and spent the major part of his career at sea,John being born twelve months before the end of World War II |
