Abraham Sutton 1850-1905

Abraham lived and worked in the Singleton District during his youth, before he followed his brothers to Yetman,in 1888. He bought a portion of the “Mungle” scrub and called it “Ohmi” where he ran sheep on the 2500 acre property. Abraham and his brother Ted were the first to grow wheat in the district and Abraham was the first to buy a wheat harvester in 1908. He was the first man to grow cotton in the North Star district in 1907. Abraham was described as a small man with reddish hair and beard. He was married at 45 years of age and he and his wife Christon (Una) had five daughters.
