Isabella Dick nee Sutton (1902 - 1972)

Isabella was the daughter of Job and Louisa Sutton of Glennies Creek,where she grew up and was educated. She married William Dick who was a dairy farmer and enlisted in the AIF and was killed in action at El Alamein,leaving her with a young daughter Louisa. In 1940 she moved into Singleton where she worked as a housekeeper for various families and was most reliable and dependable in her work. Her genial and somewhat boisterous personality endeared her to young and old alike and even after moving from Singleton she still corresponded with her many friends. In 1959 Isabella moved from Singleton to live with her daughter and they moved to Perth but later returned to Melbourne and took up residence in the suburb of Scorsby.Isabella died at the age of 70 years and was cremated at the Springvale Crematorium on the 30th August 1972.
