I found your website on the internet and hope you might be able to assist me to trace the family of my mother’s five Campbell cousins, children of George Alfred Campbell and Vera Dennis (Vera b 1884 Ulmarra, d 10 June 1957 Cessnock). They were Alec, Margaret, Molly, Brian and Ron Campbell. My mother Julia (nee Dennis) lost touch with her cousins, all older than her, when she married and moved to Melbourne during World War 2. She is keen to discover whether any of her Campbell cousins are still alive. Around 1980 they were known to be involved with a winery at Rothbury. The property may have been known as Daisy Hill. My mother feels that her cousin, called Molly within the family but possibly christened as Mary, might have been active in local history groups as she organised several family reunions, thereby displaying some interest in these matters. Our family’s correspondence about the reunions has been lost.
A contact point with the Campbell family would be most helpful as we are trying to obtain the input of the Campbells into the Dennis Family history being researched by myself and others. We would like to flesh out Vera’s story a little more, and include better details for her descendants.
2) Re my great grandfather George (Mortimer) Woodhouse, 1820-1908, to help with family connections back in Ireland, so difficult to research, I am trying to establish the name of the cousin with whom he lived in 1844 at ‘Hunter River’. Your material, if any, on any Woodhouse residents of the area in the 1840's may be helpful.
I look forward to your response with great anticipation, and thanks in advance for your help. For your information, I have also contacted the Maitland Family History Circle, as I was not sure which group would be relevant.
