To Sandra Green,
My grandfather was Stanley Augustus Whittingham,
He married Mary Carroll from Armidale, and lived in Maitland then moved his family to Newcastle where they lived until they died.
Stan's brother, Ralph lived in Aberdeen with his wife Mary.
Stanley and Ralph's father was also Ralph and their mother was Vanetta Clifton.
I'm not sure which branch of the family your from.
Can you give me more information?
I to was trying to find out more information regarding the town of Whittingham.

Thanks for the info.I have a certificate for the birth of my Mother's sister, Emma Corcoran, she was born in 1898.Now on the 23rd May 1918 she married a man called Stanley Augustus Whittingham, he was born in Aberdeen. His parents on the marriage certificate are listed as Ralph Whittingham (also born in Aberdeen) & Venetta May Clifton. The witnessess on the marriage certificate were Roy Morgan & Alice Wilson.Emma Whittingham (nee Corcoran)passed away in 1919, from the flu and pneumonia, she was 21 & Stanley would have been about 20, so really they had not been married very long at all.I hope this is of some help to you to see where I fit in.
Great to hear from you, looking forward to a reply from you.
Regards, Ssandra Green.

This information clears up a bit of a mystery regardng my grandfather, Stan Whittingham.
My uncle, Kevin Whittingham, (Stan's 3rd son) told us that he had some papers (my grandparents marriage licence I think) that stated my grandfather was a widower when he married my grandmother Mary Carroll (known as Molly by the family).
This was never discussed in my memory and was a surprise to his children.
Stan and Mary had 7 children and they were:
Stanley (deceased 2000)
Lola (died as an infant)
Joan (deceased 2000)
Kevin (livng in Forster, however 3 of his 4 children still live in Newcastle)
Donald (living in Tamworth, 2 children)
I am Joan's daughter, and live in the Maitland area with my husband, Henry. I have 2 adult children and 2 grandchildren.
I hope I have provided some information regarding your aunt Emma's husband.
Thank you for your information.
