Drake, Donald G. Drake Marietta Times, Marietta, Ohio, dated, September 27, 2007 WATERFORD - Donald G. Drake, 77, of Virginia Street, Waterford, died at 2:06 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 25, 2007) at Muskingum Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation, Beverly. He was born May 5, 1930, in Waterford, a son of Chester Drake and Ida Roberts Drake Davis. He had been a paramedic and fireman for the M&M Fire Department in McConnelsville, and later was an inspector for the Washington County Health Department. He graduated from Waterford High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He was a member of the Waterford United Methodist Church and American Legion Post 389. On Feb. 10, 1973, he married Priscilla Burk Drake, who survives. He is survived by his wife; one son, Matt Jones and wife, Angie, of Crozet, Va.; one daughter, Lynne Sheets and husband, Gordon, of Bartlett, Ohio; four grandchildren, Amanda, Jedidiah, Chelsea, and Adam; and one brother, Gerald Drake and wife, Kathryn, of Veto, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Glenn Drake. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at McCurdy Funeral Home, Beverly, with the Rev. Russell White officiating. Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery with military services at the grave. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. |
