My husband is descended from John Andrews b.approx 1796 at Old Sodbury;married to Elizabeth Timbrell, Ramsbury Wilt.b.1794; lived at Chately Farm, Tellesford/ Norton St Phillip, Somerset. Seven children. John, William. Thomas, Daniel, Elizabeth(Bezer)Richard & Robert. Their youngest son Robert arrived in South Australia in 1859. Followed Thomas who went to Melbourne Victoria in 1852. Did well. He paid for a stained glass window(designed 1883- we have a copy)as a memorial to them at North St James Church at Hinton Charter Down. All children except John born at Chatley Farm. Keen to hear what you have found Maureen Andrews.

I'm trying to find the parentage of a George Andrews from Tellisford Somerset. He is the father of my greatgreat grandmother who was Louisa Andrews born in Tellisford in 1828. Also whether she had any siblings.Louisa eventually married Charles Maddox Welsh in 1863 after they had six children. She was initially the lady's maid for Charles' first wife Frances Mary Radclyffe Tremlett. In 1865 the family emigrated to New Zealand but unfortunately Louisa died on the voyage out giving birth to a stillborn daughter. So anyone with any information on Louisa or her ancestors would be welcome

Hello Louise. I have just come across your post. I am also the gg grandson of Louisa Andrews and Charles Madox Welsh, on my mother's side. I don't have any ancestor information for Louisa but I do have a list of 9 children. I wasn't aware of a previous wife so I assumed all the children were Louisa's. One of the daughters, Alice Welsh, was my g grandmother. My mother, Mona Collett, is now 91 and still remembers her grandmother (Alice). I believe Charles Welsh and Louisa emigrated to NZ on the Warrior Queen and she died on the voyage. Charles bought a farm but this failed and he lost his fortune. He died in 1881 in Dunedin. I would certainly be keen to swap more information with you about family lines.
