I am the co-administrator of the Singleton DNA project (surname project) and was searching the web for any genealogy sites or Singletons in Australia and ran across you society site. I wanted to let you know about our project and to see if you have any members or interested people in the area with the Singleton surname who may be interested in participating in the project.
Currently, we donít have any participants descended from William and Benjamin Singleton, but we do have a couple participants whose ancestors are said to have come from Derbyshire and Liverpool, which are in the same general area as Cheshire (where William Singleton was said to have come from). In order to participate in this project, the participant must have a direct Singleton lineage (i.e. fatherís fatherís father, etc, would have been Benjamin Singleton for example).
Here is the website if youíre interested. http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/singleton
The lab that we primarily use is Family Tree DNA based in Houston, but if there is a lab in Australia Iím sure we can figure things out. FTDNA does ship kits to anywhere in the world though.
Hope to hear from you soon!

..Hi ..my husband is descended from the Singleton line the line goes so...William Singleton..born..1752-1835, married Hannah, he was born in Cheshire England, he obviously fell on hard times and on the 8/6/1871.was convicted in the Old Bailey, for stealing 28 yards of calico.and was sentenced to 7yrs and transportation,William,Hannah and their young son Benjamin arrived in the Colony of Sydney New South Wales on the14/2/1792 (on board the"Pitt")..also on board was james Evans, the families would later become interwoven...So from William we go to Benjamin. 1788-1853. he married Mary Sharling..1796-1877, next we have Benjamin Jnr.1817-1889 he married Eliza Horne 1825-1862. ..Their daughter Mary Singleton, apparently "took" up with a "traveller" by the name of Frank Hart,..one of their sons Hector Randall Hart 1876-1927 married Sarah Brown ..Their daughter..Mabel Gladys (Hart) Rowe is my husbands Mother!! Sincerely Janice Rowe. firstname.lastname@example.org

I'm a little behnid on the All You book club . I'm just now reading Thank You for All Things (and really enjoying it by the way). I was hoping to read some of the posts from that book on that blog. However, I didn't really find a history of posts for the book. Where can I find the blog for that book?

Hector Randall Hart is my great grandfather. His son is my grandfather, who I called Pop, his name was Keith Bruce Hart. He had two sons Randal Hart and Bryan Hart (my father).
I've just recently started looking into my family's past. It's very interesting to me.
