Hi. We've been searching for information on my paternal grandmother due to the location of a lodge apron and collar which has been passed down the family line. Apparently due to current belief, it belonged to my father, Harold Raymond Holmesby from his father Frederick Percy Holmesby who was the next recipient from Martha Madeline's father.

On searching the web, we've found your site and can help you with the following information.

First issue: Dorothy May Holmesby (b 5.2.1905) married Norman Trenorden 30/6/1904, died 15/9/1974. Children Raymond Maurice born 20/8/1927, deceased: Barbara Joyce born 1/10/36
Second issue: Sylvia Myrtle (b. 9.11.1908) married Cornelius John Thomas Hayes 17/1/1930, died 25/8/1969. Child: Robin John Hayes b. 11.9.1940
Third issue: Eileen Adelaide (b. 25.8.1911) married John Charles Cullen 18.3.1939. Children: Barry b. 18.5. 1940, Bronwyn b. 25.1. 1944
Fourth issue: Albert Aubrey (b. 24.4.1914) married Myrtle Merle Allen 22.11.1941. No issue.
Fifth issue: Marjorie Winifred (b. 5.12.1917) married Charles Degner Lewis 22.7.1939. Child: Graeme Degner Lewis deceased.
Sixth issue: Harold Raymond (b. 28.3.1919) married Stella Eglinton 19.7.1941. Child: Diane Kaye married Stephen Vincent Wells 22.4.1978, children Lauren Kaye b. 7.11.1981, James Raymond Lachlan b. 27.7.1984.

Hopefully you will find this useful.

Kind regards,

Diane and James Wells

Hi there Diane and thanks for your info and this email.
I have tons on the Gibbs family of which the Naylor family makes quite a big presence.
I don't put the "living" generations on my website as I feel as though it may breach some peoples
privacy.
BUT - I do have a fair bit on the Naylors, are you interested in just the Naylors or the whole Gibbs
genealogy. James Gibbs was the patriarch of your Gibbs line - I come down his sister Sarahs line.
She married an Andrews. They all came out to Australia in 1838 on the same ship "Woodbridge".
Regards,
Roy

Kind regards,

Hi Diane,
the best thing that I can do for you would be to send you what I have on the Naylor family.
I wouldn't have any idea if they are part of the WA branch or not. Tomorrow, once I source
the lineage I will send it to you if thats OK.
Regards,
Roy

That would be fantastic. Apparently Charles Aubrey Holmesby married Martha Madeline Naylor in WA but one of them was originally from around Canberra or NSW somewhere.

Thanks again,

Di

Yes that is right, this line of Naylors that tie into the Gibbs line all came from
Canberra area. The original Gibbs settled there.

Here is what I have - if you are going to use the material on a website or in a book etc, you better get
back to me so I can find the names of the other descendents that put a fair bit of this together, I didn't
do all of it myself,
regards,
Roy

Hi, I am searching any information on the Naylor Family. We don't have too much but what we have is Catherine Naylor nee Daly was the Mother of James John Naylor and we have been told that he was born in Huon Tasmania. I have not been able to get any information on this to varify it as no-one can find any record of him being born there. We think he was born August 1871. I have found a Huon in Victoria on the edge of the Hume Lake but the family were told he was born in Tasmania. Has anyone come across this James Naylor. He married Mary Elizabeth Bingham 23/04/1900. Mary was from South Australia but their first born child Alice was born in Melbourne. Thank you. Joan

any info you people get off here i hope you research it yourselves properly as well. i have found info that is totaly wrong and have had to ask for it to be taken off, but there are still mistakes. this info was about my father and mother, so never believe it is the truth. families hide info and it will never be common knowledge, a promise to my father before he died was to do exactly that, and one i will take to my grave. so don't think you have all the info just cause you have names and dates.
