Dear fellow researcher,

I came across your address whilst looking through the Genuki website for
Wiltshire. I'm related to the Homington CHANT's and I am actively pursuing
all the CHANT's in Wiltshire and would be happy to exchange information.

Regards,

Andy CHANT.

Roy,

I've had time to check through my records.

Re: Ann Chant married John GOODFELLOW on 28/01/1799 - I still have this on
my unattached list along with a James CHANT and Ann BARNES married in B/C in
the 1730's!

Re: Jane CHANT b.1814 Salisbury married Henry INGRAM at B/C 1832 - from
David GOURLEY I have Jane b.25/04/1809, Fisherton Anger and married
02/07/1832. I don't know if you know of David but his address is: 55C/1
McDonald Street, Cronulla NSW 2230, Australia - sorry no E-mail address -
but I believe you are related to him.

Re: Henry CASE married Fanny CHANT - Henry was baptised 19/10/1828 in
Homington.

Re: Elizabeth GODWIN married Harry CHANT in 1863 - married 10/08/1863 in
Homington.

Re: Pat STEARN from New Zealand - she's a distant cousin of mine - our tree
goes back to the marriage of Jonathon CHANT and Mary LAWS in Combe BISSET
1717 but as yet no connection to your CHANT ancestors.

Roy and Andy,
I may be a distant relative of yours. My gggrandmother's name was Marianne Chant of Homington (possibly Mary Ann). She married Isaac
Saunders of Fordingbridge. They were married at
Fisherton Anger on 18 October 1836. Her father's name was Jonathan Chant born 1773, her brother's
name also Jonathan born 1802 in homington.
Marianne and Isaac were parents to my ggrandmother
Maria Staite nee Saunders. Otherwise I know very
little of the family. I live in Canada my sister
in England. Any other info would be appreciated.

Henry Case is my g.g grandfather on my maternal grandmother's side. I have his marriage certificate to Fanny Chant which gives his father's name as William Case and her father's name as James Chant.

Although there seem to be many of the Chant family around this Wiltshire area Fanny Chant was born in West Woodyates/Pentridge, Dorset.

My g.g. grandfather and his family moved between Amesbury and Bathford, Somerset and in 1881 lived in Shipton Bellinger, Hants. Last trace was 1901 census when they were located in Dyrrham.

Some of my mother's family still live in the Wiltshire area and I believe some are still around the Bristol area.

Thanks for information from your site.

Dorothy
