Hello there,

I live in Australia, an hour south of Sydney. I noticed your surname of Isaac Hayden on your family website. I am researching the Hayden surname in Yorkshire and Northhamptonshire (without much luck) and I just had to contact you so you can add me to your list of stray contacts for the Hayden name.

I have noticed the name Isaac Hayden on my travels so I will check all my stray names and be back in touch with you in a day or two.

I am a direct descendant of a man born approx 1797, John Hayden, known as Big Jack, who was transported to Australia as a convict around 1824. His convict papers stated he was a sailor from Whitby & Scarborough and his death certificate in 1874 says he was born “Northamptonshire Yorkshire”. I have been researching this fellow for many years without much luck (its difficult being over here and not being able to access local records myself) and am just looking for any Hayden families so I can check parish records.

I would appreciate any help you may be able to give me.

Kind regards, Julia

PS: Your website is great. You have done a good job.
