My oldest known Drake ancestor was John. He married in Malton Yorkshire (1803) and obviously made his way North from Deptford (birthplace circa 1783/4)in his early life, but for what reason? Parish records in Deptford have no John Drake baptised in 1780's.However in 1783 there was a John Haller Drake baptised to William and Margaret Drake. Haller was never subsequently used so loathed to claim it as a find, although it is a possiblity. Does anybody have William and Margaret(possibly nee Haller) in their Drake lineage?
