Hi there Marilyn and thanks for your message re Andrews.
The only thing that I know about my Andrews family is that
they originated fom Bishopstone via Salisbury
in Wiltshire c 1740. My line starts with a
Peter ANDREWS born c1771 at Downton.Peter married Susanna MUNDAY at
Downton on 04/03/1793. Sometime after their marriage they have moved to
Bishopstone via Salisbury as the church records have 10 children as
being baptised there.Abraham ( my 2x great )was one of the 10 children
and he married Sarah GIBBS and emigrated to Australia in 1838 but the
other 9 children are a mystery.Abraham came out to Australia in 1838
and left 8000 descendents in the country. I wouldn't be surprised if
some of the other 9 children went to the USA or Canada, time may tell.

Few other suggestions for you;

Cyndis list at;
http://www.cyndislist.com/
It is huge and is dedicated to EVERYTHING genealogy.

The other thing to do is join the Andrews mail List. Instructions are
at; http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/surname/a/andrews.html

This may help you in your quest,
regards,
Roy Andrews

Hello Roy,

Thank you for your reply. I assume that you have the
birth certificate of George Andrews whose parents were
Abraham and Sarah (Gibbs)Andrews. He was born 20th October 1837
in Bishopstone. If not I have one by mistake as I am looking for
my George Andrews who was born in Wilton around this time. In the bdm
index the place was shown as Wilton.

Regards,

Marilyn Cotterell

Sorry about the late response to your message,
with George Andrews, we definately know he is the right one.
We don't have a birth certificate just the entries in the bishopstone
register. Would love a copy - will reimburse,
regards,
Roy

Hi Ellen and thanks for your info re Charles Andrews. Its good to post your interests as there is always a chance that somebody else is searching the same family. I was lucky that my Andrews family stayed in the Singleton district for many years.
