Drake, John Burroughs, hotel proprietor, railroad president, was born Jan. 17, 1826, in Lebanon, Ohio. In 1874-95 he managed with success the Grand Pacific hotel of Chicago, which became one of the most famous hotels in America. He was president of the Chicago and Joliet railroad. He died Nov. 12, 1895, in Chicago, Ill.
