Drake, John R., lawyer, jurist, congressman, was born in 1783. He was one of the earliest settlers in Tioga county, N.Y. ; and in 1817-19 he was a representative from New York to the fifteenth congress. He was elected judge of Tioga county in 1833; and was a member of the New York state assembly in 1834. He died March 21, 1857, in Oswego, N.Y. |
