I am trying to locate the property in Lochinvar owned by John Taylor in the 1840's. Johann Wenz planted 28 acres of vines for John Taylor. Josef F Horadam was also employed by John Taylor and refers to J Wenz in his letter (12 August 1849) to brothers in his home town of Wiesbaden (p90). (see: "Greetings from the Land where Milk and Honey flows: the German Emigration to NSW 1838-1858", ed by Patricia Cloos and Jurgen Tampke. Johann left after he won a house in Sydney about 1849. At the time of JW's death he was an 'innkeeper'. I would be interested in extra information anyone has on Johann (d.1853) and his wife Julia Ann (d.1855). [Daughters: Margaret m 1. Lazarus Chapman 2.
