I am a descendant from James Knell/Lucy Lane. My name is Carol Bennett (Neal).. I have just recently discovered this site, and found all those wonderful stories in the Gazette. I have heard some of the stories before, of course, but not so detailed! I believe Joseph Neal (Born 1848), who married Mary Hill @ Petersham, is my G.G. G'father. They had 5 sons, Joseph, James, Hugh Gordon, Frederick & William Spencer. Hugh Gordon Neal (Jack) married Mary Jane Sharp (1912) they had 5 children, and their only son Oscar Howard (Dick) Neal is my father! Hugh and his brother William served in WW1 etc. I was wondering if you know of any photos or other info about them I may access, or someone may share? I know William(Billy) received a DCM medal, I have details of the award. I believe he may be buried at Tingha in 1938? I think my G'father Hugh is buried @ Dalby Qld.1930. Can you help?
