To: Singleton Historical Society,
I am a descendent of John Alcorn b. 1811, son of Richard Alcorn b. 1771
and Sarah Steadman b. 1776. I believe that some of John's siblings spent
much of their life in the Singleton area and am trying to chase up
details. I also believe that they ran the Alcorns Inn for some time in
Jerry's Plains (do you know where this was located?). I was hoping that
you may be able to help in filling some details about his brothers
* Richard b. 1799 (London), married (second marriage) in Jerry's Plains
6.10.1852 and died 3.1.1879. (Haven't been able to locate his grave)
* Edward b. 1801 and died 6.6.1880 in Singleton (I have seen his
gravesite)
* Elizabeth Mary b. 1806 died 24.10.1876 in Singleton.
If you are able to assist in any way, it would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest that you write to the Singleton Family History Society at Singleton.
The society is manned by a collection of very keen volunteers and they have so many records there at the society room.
