Subject: Swains in Singleton District
I have a small query that you may be able to help me with.
Some time soon after 1856, my great-great-grandfather, James SWAIN and his wife Hannah ran a hotel at Jump Up Creek, now (I believe) Belford.
I have been told that there is now a Swain's Road in that vicinity. I was wondering if any member of your Society knows whether the road owes its name to James, or other members of his family.
Any information would be appreciated.
