I am interested in any information on Fitzgerald's who descended from Michael & Margaret Fitzgerald of Roscrea Tipperary. Michael died at Glendon Brook and is burried in the Catholic Cemetry in Singleton. |

Michael Fitzgerald died 8th January 1853 just seven months after arriving in Sydney. He worked on a farm at Singleton at the time of his death and left his wife Margaret 35 years of age and five children the eldest being 15 years old. She lived the rest of her life in Singleton. How does a widow with five children survive in such a place in those times? Was their charity or would she have been able to find work that paid enough to support the family? I would be interested in learning more about every day living in Singleton in 1853 to 1873. |

The society is manned by a collection of very keen volunteers and they have
so many records there at the society room. They also do a $10 research of the
records held at the society. There are so many books on the town, its people and way of life. Do you need any details of you Fitzgerald family???
