I am trying to clarify some information on the Mercy Convent at Branxton for my website on Catholic Churches. There are two buildings across the road from the church both of which may have been convents at some time. The older, a white building has the word Mercy on the old gates but appears to have been used as a presbytery - while the newer larger building to the left of it is clearly a convent. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the white building was ever used as a convent or any history regarding the convents at Branxton.
