Dear Roy,

I am a descendant of Rose Lawrence (1876-1935) and Alexander Augustus
Thomas (1874-1946) and have been compiling a family tree for some
years.

I am a bit confused as to why they show up on your Bauer and Kuppinger
family tree. I understood Rose Lawrence's father to be Charles
Lawrence from Cambridgeshire, England and her mother, Elizabeth Dowd
of Athlone, Ireland. They certainly lived in the Singleton District.

Can you help?

Regards

*** Personal History ***
On Wednesday 15th 1896,there was quite a gala day at "THE OAKS", the
residence of MR A.J.DRAKE ,GLENNIES CREEK,to commemorate the union of
the adopted daughter of MR J.A.BOWER,of GOORANGOOLA,to MR ALEXANDER
THOMAS.
In the morning the friends of the happy pair assembled to witness the
ceremony, which was preformed by the REV FATHER KILGALLIN,at GLENNIES
CREEK,the church being tastfully decorated for the occasion.
The young bride looked charming, and was most elegantly dressed in
white satin, with wreath and veil. The bridesmaid, MISS ELSIE
SATTLER,wa
s very nice in pale pink and white lace. At about 1'oclock in the day
30 guests sat down to a sumptuous wedding breakfast.
The toast of the day was drunk to the health, happiness and prosperity
of the bride and bridegroom.
Dancing subsequently formed part of the amusement of those assembled,
after which a start was made for Sydney, where the newly married
couple
intend to spend the honeymoon.
They had a very hearty send-off,amid showers of rice and the good
wish
es of all present. The presents to the bride were numerous

I have her wedding photo if you would like a copy of it, also her
lineage if you want to cross check,

Thanks very much Roy, there was a family rumour that she had been
adopted but we hadn't yet been able to find out by whom.

I'm absolutely thrilled by the information you've given us about the
wedding and would be very grateful for a copy of the wedding photo.
Are you able to send it digitally? Otherwise let me know of any cost
you are to incur and I will send some funds.
