Patricia Goodwin <trishg39@tadaust.org.au> Friday, 17 February 2012 5:45 PM Hi My g/grandfather Thomas James Butlin and wife Betsy arrived in qld in 1883 and then three months later came south to Sydney, where he raised 5 children (only two survived). He died in Singleton in 1936. He was a Lodge member (according to his death notice) He was a railway porter in England (also on death cert) as was his son (Thomas Lyon). Would you have any particulars on the family, please. When they came to Singleton. Where they lived etc etc. Please tell the costs. regards Pat |

Hi Pat TJ was my great x uncle from Walmley, Warwickshire, England. They had only been married a few months - believe it was because he was a Railway Porter they moved to Australia. None of his other siblings went over. From this lineage (Thomas James. Thomas Lyon (killed in hit and run New Years Eve) are his two g'sons economists QLD. Sidney & Noel Butlin.
