Rod and Wendy Gow have released an index of court cases, births, deaths,
marriages, inquests, insolvencies, Tickets of Leave etc. extracted from
the Parramatta Chronicle and Cumberland Advertiser Newspaper 1843-1845,
with reports not just from Parramatta, Sydney and the Hawkesbury, but
from Port Phillip to Moreton Bay and from South Australia to VDL. Court
case reports from Berrima, Goulburn and Newcastle as well as many
mentions of inmates of the Female Factory.
The Parramatta Chronicle is available for viewing on the internet. Armed
with this index, it is a very simple task to the particular
page of the newspaper that you require and read it at your leisure
either on or off line. The s are read via Acrobat Reader, which
