Were his parents William and Nancy 'Anna' Chappel Drake?
William and Mary had a daughter Nancy who very well could have been Anna Chappel Drake's namesake; however, I have not been able to go back any further.
Revolutionary War Pension Records have been perused by others and the issue of William and Nancy 'Anna' have been enumerated including a William; but their marriage date of 1783? would not support that since my William above was born in 1794.
My gosh, there are so many DRAKEs let alone William DRAKEs, I know it's a struggle to corroborate anything at all.
William b 1794 was my paternal great-great-grandfather. He is buried in Northeast Missouri.
