I have been searching for the parents of Samuel Drake born 1797 in PA. (or N.Y.all depending on which Census you read to obtain birth state. I have more documentation stating PA. than I do for him being born in N.Y.) I have searched the Census for possible connections to his parents, but have come up empty handed. I have searched some of the N.Y. Census. Does anyone have any ideas on possible ways to locate his parents ??? (I have also posted on many boards et..) Casaundra |

Grannie always said... .. Grannie's extensive research traces our heritage, in part, to Mary Drake. I understand she was Sir Francis Drake's sister. Our family is interested in sailing Drake's route and would like any information regarding his route and experiences. Has any other Drake relative attempted his journey? If so, we'd love to hear from you! |

My Great-Great-Grandmother was Lovice Catherine DRAKE, born 1836 in Newton Co., GA. Thanks to Shirley Drake, I have recently found her on the 1850 Census, living in Newton Co. with a Mary DRAKE and Charlott DRAKE. Lovice was only 16 at the time and I am unsure as to which of the other ladies might have been her mother, Mary or Charlott. Mary was, according to the census, born in 1783 in Va. and Charlott was born in 1791, also in Va. My Great-Great-Grandmother married Joseph A. Daniel (also born 1836 in Newton County), sometime in the early 1850's. They had three children, Andrew, Sarah Jane and Henry Alden Daniel, who was my Great-Grandfather. All three children were born in Alabama. Lovice DRAKE Daniel is buried in Calhoun Co., AL. Do any of you good DRAKE folks have the names Lovice, Mary (Everyone probably has a Mary) or Charlott in your DRAKE lines? If you do, would you please let me hear from you? THANKS! Brenda |

I am related to James Watts Drake (4/28/1807-2/17/1895), his father Enos Drake (9/3/1775-7/8/1847), his father Benjamin Drake (6/10/1742-3/15/1827) and his father Francis Drake (8/21/1701-1763). I am looking for more info on Francis (where he lived and died in the US, etc), in particular anything that proves the link to Benjamin. |
