Subject: Some china I came across Date: Tuesday, 12 April 2005 7:22 AM Hi there, A friend gave me ten dishes of china, from the Shenango China company (an old Pennsylvania company), which have the Drake coat of arms on them. They don't mean anything to me, but I'm sure they would mean something to someone on your list. I collect dragons, myself, hence the reason my friend thought I'd like them. Shenango China is collectable here in the states, but I've not found any like these. I suspect they were made for a hotel or a restaurant with the Drake name. I would gladly ship them, at cost, to anyone who would be more happy with them, I think you could certainly help me there. I'm not interested in making any money here, just in finding them a good home. I've attached a picture of one, and a closeup of the coat of arms. All ten plates are the same, and in the same condition, no chips, cracks, etc. My investigations indicate that they aren't really worth (monitarily) a lot, but they are pretty cool, and would be great for a Drake lover. Thanks in advance for your help. BTW, I will be in England the last two weeks of May, if there is anyone there who would be interested I can bring the plates over in my luggage quite inexpensively and much more safely than shipping them. Again, I'm interested only in someone who would like them as a fun family treasure, not as a money thing. Thanks again... Paul Giordano |
