I am searching for maternal/paternal/sibling information regarding Judith Drake who married Robert Bland, Sr. in Plumstead, Norfolk, England on May 7, 1832.
Robert Bland Sr was born February 5, 1810 in England. He and Judith had eight children together:
1. Henry Bland
2. Caroline Bland
3. Jonathan Bland
4. James Bland
5. Sarah Ann (Bland) Vernon
6. John Bland
7. Robert Bland Jr
8. George Bland
Robert Bland came to America sometime between 1861-1865. There is a passenger list for Judith, Robert Jr and George for March/April of 1863. They moved to the Vernon homestead in Kasota, Minnesota to stay with Edward R. Vernon and Sarah A. Bland.
Robert Bland Sr. had a very kind and amiable disposition that won him many friends. He died a few weeks after his 84th birthday on March 17, 1894. He had been ill for some time, owing to a fall received in the winter.
I can provide photos of Robert Bland & Judith Drake along with some of their descendents. Any help you could give in learning more about the Drake line would be much appreciated. |
