Subject: Hill End & Tambaroora Family History Research Date: Sunday, 3 September 2006 8:34 PM Dear Family History and/or Hill End researcher, At some stage in the past few years you have contacted me with regard to Hill End & Tambaroora Family History Research or the Pioneer Register. This email is to advise you of a new email address for the Hill End and Tambaroora Gathering Group and to ask you to change your address book records by deleting my address which is no longer valid and adding this address, (ADMIN has email adddress} It is the intention of the Group to produce an irregular newsletter and I will be in touch soon regarding this so we need to update our address book records too. If, by some chance you receive this email and have no interest in Hill End or Tambaroora I apologize and ask you to reply by typing “unsubscribe” in the Subject line and I will immediately remove you from the list. In order to build this mailing list I have exported my personal address book so one or two unsuspecting people from my other family history research (ie Hennessy, Gaynon, Flood, Markey, Lyons & Purcell) may have inadvertently been included. Please let me know. If you have received this message twice it is because I have 2 email addresses for you. Please let me know which one is the correct address for receiving any Hill End information. With regard to the Hill End & Tambaroora Pioneer Register there are only a limited number of copies left for sale as the response has been marvellous. If you have been putting off purchasing your copy then it is now time to reconsider as it will not be reprinted in the immediate future (however we are considering producing a CD version for a similar price if it is still in demand when hardcopy supplies run out). Thirty seven dollars will see a copy posted to you anywhere in Australia. I look forward to hearing from you and hope your Hill End research has been fruitful. Regards Lorraine Purcell Convenor, Hill End & Tambaroora Gathering Group. |

Hello Lorraine Have just discovered your website, and my interest is Family History. My maternal grand aunt Ann Smithson was born on 4th March 1858 at Tambaroora. These details are from her Birth Certificate. Ann is the sister of my grandmother, Mary Emma Smithson. Their parents were Robert Smithson (Gold miner) and Julia Murray, and on Ann's birth certificate, they are shown as having married in Newcastle in August 1854, and both were born in England. That's about all the detail I have; so don't know if they stayed in Tamaroora, as I have been unable to find death certificates for them. Does your organisation have any materials I can research? If so, how and what cost? Regards, Maureen Miller |
