These are some of the children of John Drake married to Rahamah Ayres. If anyone has any information on these let me know. I don't have any dates except the late 1780's Brenda rsglenave@dctnet.net |

Rachel ATKINS or Sarah KING in MA Date: Tuesday, 23 November 2004 3:31 AM Alfred, I have a question regardng some of the information on your 31 October message. You show Seth Drake b. 28Jun1754 as the son of Joseph Drake b. 20Oct1727. My father had years ago researched our line and had come up with that same connection. However, I believe his data came from a book (and its author Fred Sawyer) titled, "The Sawyers...and their kinfolk, the Drakes" which contained information gleaned from Louis Stoughton Drake's book. It appears the general conclusion is that L S Drake didn't quite get his elevator all the way to the top when it came to accurate research. More recent research by family members has listed Seth's father as Abijah Drake and that has become our brick wall. Unfortunately the same researcher also listed the same siblings but changed Seth's birth date to "Abt 1761" which also changed his order from 3rd to 6th. Without going into a great deal of explanations of some of my pro and con impressions of my questionable records, might I ask what documentation you have for this connection you list? I would appreciate knowing if you have anything other than I have seen already. Thanks Marv

Good luck on our search. Regards, Alfred
