Funeral Services Are Held At 2:30 O'Clock Monday

Funeral services were held on Monday at 2:30 p.m. at the Winchester M.E. church for Mrs. Alice Drake, age 70 years, who died at her home, 833 South Noble street at 2:15 o'clock Saturday afternoon following an illness of one week.
The Rev. Jay C. Thompson, pastor of the Church of God, of Anderson, officiated and burial was in the church cemetery in charge of C.F. Fix & Son, funeral directors.
Mrs. Drake was born in Washington township, Shelby county, January 15, 1865, the daughter of Daniel and Mary Cochran. In December, 1890, she married Sylvester Drake, who preceded her in death February 19, 1930.
Survivors are five children: Goldie Pope, of St. Louis Crossing; Orville Drake, at home; Joseph Drake, of Los Angeles, California; Herschel Drake, Oakland, California; and Wilson Cochran, of Anderson, Indiana; three step-children: Ada Drake, of Arlington; Mrs. Clara Owens, of Shelbyville, and Mrs. Myrtle Moore, of near Arlington; twenty-one grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four brothers; Charles Cochran, of Washington township; Frank, of Edinburg; Dan, of Shelbyville, and Bud, of near Indianapolis; one sister, Mrs. Pet Kinneman, of Columbus, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Winchester M.E. church and had resided in this county all her life.
