Hello My name is Peter David Drake age 60 DOB 17/9/1950. I am known however as David Peter Drake.
I live in Victoria Australia. My younger brother is John Drake. My father's name was Peter Drake. His older brother's name was John Drake.I am told the christian name 'John' repeats itself back to a distant relative who lived in the 1500's.
My grandfather Edwin John Drake(a distinguished scientist)was born in Australia and had many bros. His father was a solicitor in Victoria.
Due to my parents seperation when I was 9 and their subsequent divorce I know little more.
Other than the fact that my father's brother John was said to have traced the family back to Crichton,Devon, where it seems to have come to a halt at man known as 'John Jackman Drake'.I know little else.
I would be grateful if someone could help me fill in the gaps(chasms)in my lineage.

I have been out of the loop for a while so much so that My Email address has changed to: firstname.lastname@example.org
It was most interesting to find that we share common great great grandparents along with Peter David Bain Drake. who curiously shares my name.
Co incidence abounds, I stuck my nose in yesterday and found that you have a number of photos of female family members .
From which I was able to glean the fact that one has the middle name Ellen and another Eliza .These are the names of my two daughters .Names that were chosen by chance.
When I tell friends that there is a strong likelihood that I and I am descended from Sir Francis's family many scoff at that suggestion. However unlike some, I do not have to trace through the generations to establish my claim. All I need do is show them the portrait of a young Sir Francis Drake on the cover of The Secret Voyage of Sir Francis Drake,by Samuel Bawlf, penguin books 2003 and all
discussion ends -the likeness is remarkable. The eyes in particular make me think that I am looking at myself.albeit I am now 61.

Carol - Kerri, your ptohos are beautiful; how could you go wrong with such a handsome groom and perfectly lovely bride? I am Colleen’s Aunt Carol (known as A.C.). The wedding was so much fun. Honeymoon Island, the reception, the ceremony, the food and all the family and friends hanging out together made this one of the best weekends I’ve ever had! My husband John and I are so happy that we were there to help celebrate!CONGRATULATIONS TO DAVE AND COLLEEN. Welcome to the crazy family, Dave. God bless you both and bless your marriage. I hate that we all have to have big personalities to be niotced but all you have to do is sit there and look pretty. I hate that I met drake myself and he not once complimented me, why does @DrakesBeautifulStripper get complimented daily but we DONT? thats another reason why we tear you down with false, ludicrous statements. We know you dont get this kind of treatment outside the internet, so we just want to let you know how weve been treated forever. And when we tried to talk to ppl in HS or sit by them, they moved away, boys never sat by us, we just hate that you get the good life DrakesBeautifulStripper you don't have to respond to us anymore, we know your beautiful we just wanted you to feel yu to feel ugly but didn't succeed -SMH- please forgive and feel sorry for us, were terribly ugly and lonely, and obese, We wanted your beauty to rub off on us, but yes dear your pretty, and we wont try to take that away from you any longer.

I think we should all be grateful to those posting information that assists others; rather than castigating them for reactions/incidents they have no control over. Wires might be crossed here - i wish you all the best for your future.
