Benjamin Drake with 3 males under 16 yrs. and 4 females. 

> Abraham Drake, 1763-1846 m Elizabeth Murray, b1760/70-had one child (John). 
> Benjamin’s other three sons, are Isaac, Jacob and Elijah.
> 1790 census, also shows A Joseph Drake in Huntingdon county, PA. This may be Benjamin’s Father, and may be this “Joseph Drake” that settled at “Drake’s Cliff, in Carter Co. TN.
This “Joseph” may have gone to Carter Co. TN. before Bemjamin and then Benjamin followed later.
Carter County TN. was created in 1796 off of Washington Co. TN.
> A Francis Drake Sr. Emigrated before 1661 and lived in Piscataway NJ, Before NJ was a state. (May have come from Jersey Island, UK ?.) 
> He had a son, *Francis Drake Jr.
> Francis Drake Jr. had a son Rev. John Drake.

My ancestor Benjamin Drake, 1729-1827 and lived during the Revolutionary War in the County of Huntingdon, on the Jaunita River, in Pennsylvania. and assisted in the establishment of American Independence by serving from there in 1776 with Col. William Christian as a Soldier protecting the Western Frontier against the America Indians and all other opposition to the cause of Independence.

About where Benjamin Drake spent his life. 

  My Records and research indicate Benjamin Arrived in America sometime between 1729 his birth date. From the Channel Island of Jersey, and his marriage in 1751, at age 22, and lived in Pennsylvania, Bedford Co.(Bedford Co later became Huntingdon Co.) on the Juanita River in the County of Huntingdon.

HISTORY OF HUNTINGDON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA.	

THE ACT ERECTING BEDFORD COUNTY (MARCH 9, 1771) FIXED THE JUANITA RIVER AS THE LINE FROM A POINT BELOW NEWTON HAMILTON UP TO SHAVER’S CREEK, HENCE THAT PART OF THE TERRITORY NOW 
EMBRACES IN HUNTINGDON COUNTY WHICH LIES NORTH OF THE RIVER AND EAST OF SHAVERS CREEK, REMAINED IN BARREE TOWNSHIP, CUMBERLAND CO., UNTILL ANNEXED TO BEDFORD BY ACTS OF 1772 AND 1779. THE ASSESSMENT OF THIS FRAGMENTARY TOWNSHIP  TAKEN   BY THE CUMBERLAND AUTHORITIES, FOR 1773 WAS AS FOLLOWS:
	COMPRISING 18 LAND OWNERS OF WHICH BENJAMIN DRAKE WAS ONE AND OWNED 100 ACRES ON THE JUANITA RIVER. THE LOWER  END OF THE “MILL CREEK” FARM. (INFORMATION SOURCE,: HISTORY  OF HUNTINGDON COUNTY, PA.)

	BEDFORD COUNTY WAS ERECTED FROM CUMERLAND BY THE ACT OF MARCH 9, 1771 AND DUBLIN TOWNSHIP WAS INCLUDED THEREIN. BEFORE THE NEW COUNTY WAS ORGAINZED THE ASSESSMENT FOR THE YEAR WAS MADE, AND AS MANY NEW NAMES AND CHANGES OCCUR IT IS PRESENTED ENTIRE:
	ONE NAME AMONG 15 STAND OUT, AND THAT IS WILLIAM  BUCHANAN.
WHO PURCHASED, 300 ACRES OF LAND,  THE TRACT ON AUGHWICK AT AND INCLUDING THE MOUTH OF BLACK LOG CREEK.	

Benjamin had three Daughters and four Sons, (We do not have any records about the three daughters at this time). Benjamin Purchased 100 acres of fine bottom farm  land on the Juanita river. 
	In 1776 Benjamin joined up with George Washington’s forces under the command of Col. William Christian protecting the Western Frontieer as a soldier. After eight long years in 1782 the war was finally over and the peace treaty was signed with the British at Yorktown VA.

	Then Benjamin, removed to Tennessee, sometime between 1779 and 1796, where land was selling for 50c to one dollar per acre, Benjamin purchased 3331/2 acres in 1797 in Carter County, TN, Old Fields on the Watagua River, near Elizabethton.

Benjamin served his Country well in the Revolution and served his beloved State of Tennessee in many of the State Functions, Neighborly acts of  friendship and other.
