REV. Bamfield/Bampfylde Drake, Rector of Farway Parish, was baptized 12
April 1670 at Buckland Monochorum, was a Captain Lieutenant of the militia,
and was known to be, according to Lady Drake-Elliott, a dull and tiresome
man. His will was dated 26 May 1729. He was buried on 20 June 1729 at
Farway. His wife was named Kathrine; she had died 19 March 1728, and his
will disposed of her clothes.
The will named sons Joseph, Francis, William, daughter Joanna (wife of Samuel Key), daughter Eleanor (wife of william May), son John who was a minor, and son Bampfylde.
