Benjamin Drake, born at Weymouth, December 1, 1700; died April 18, 1784, in Easton; married November 28, 1723, Elizabeth Hewett, who died April 4, 1766, daughter of Ephraim Hewett of Easton. Benjamin "built his house just north of where Danl Daily lives at E. Centre. No vestiges of cellar can now be seen." (History of Easton, p. 52) In June, 1724, he distinguished himself by killing a wildcat, as a reward for which he received sum of 5s. from town. (History of Easton, p. 17).
