153 DECATUR COUNTY ORIGINAL DEED BOOK A

No 126 "This Indenture made the twenty eighth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four between John Nelson of the County of Decatur and the State of Indiana, of the first part and Benjamin Drake of the County and State aforesaid of the second part, witnessith that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of forty dollars lawful money of the United States to him in hand paid by the party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold aliened conveyed and confirmed, and by these present do grant bargain and sell alien convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever. All that contain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the Township of Washington in the County of Decatur and State aforesaid, containing fifteen acres and bounded as follows, to wit Beginning at a stake at the east corner of the west half of the north east quarter of section N thirty, in town eleven N of range ten E, thence west forty poles with the line of said half quarter to a stake, thence north sixty poles to a stake thence east forty poles to a steak on the east line of said half quarter to the place of beginning containing fifteen acres together with all and singular the hereditaments and appurtences there unto belonging or in any wise appertaining and reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits thereof, and all the estate right tittle interest claim or demand whatsoever of the said party of the first either in law or equity, of in and to, the above bargained promises the said heritaments and the appertenances, to have and to hold the said premises above particularly mentioned and described to the said party of the second part his

heirs and assigns forever. And the said John Nelson doth for himself his heirs executors and administrators covenant and grant to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns that the said party of the first part are lawfully Seized in fee of the aforesaid granted premises that they are free from all incumbences that they have good that he has good right to seel and Convey the same to the said party of the second part as aforesaid - and that he will and

his heirs and assigns forever, against all lawful claims and demands, of all persons. In witness thereof the said John Nelson have hereunto set his hand, and seal this day and year first above. Witnesses

On the "28" day of June in the in the year of our Lord 1824, John Nelson the grantor named in the above deed of conveyance personally appeared before me Dillard Drake a Justice of the Peace in and for the said County and acknowledged this signing and sealing of the same as

his act and deed and for the purposes theirin expressed and given freely of his own accord without coercion or compulsion. Given under my hand and seal this "28" day of June 1824.
