From: Cynthia Subject: [DRAKE-L] Roll Call Date: Monday, July 12, 1999 6:55 PM Sorry this is a little late, but I was on vacation last week. My gg-grandmother was Laura Elizabeth Drake. Drake, Laura Elizabeth; b. 22 November 1852 in Indiana (prob. Shelby County) , m. 13 November, 1873 to John Abraham Rife, Effingham County, Ill., d. 28 May 1927, buried Antioch Cemetery, Freestone County, Texas. Laura and her husband moved first to Ellis County, Texas circa 1880. daughter of: Drake, Joseph Addison, b. 18 March 1829 , m. 9 February 1848 to Catherine Mow, Shelby County, Indiana, d. 6 December 1895, buried McQueen Cemetery, Jasper County, Illinois Joseph was married to Rachel Hodson, second. He moved to Illinois in 1859. son of: Drake, Issac, b. ca 1799 in Ohio, m. Prudence Thurston, d. 13 December 1842, Shelby County, Indiana son of: Drake, Ithamar, b. 10 September 1773 probably in New Jersey, m. Mary Kinder ca 1787 (he would only be 14 years old! Does this sound right?), d. 18 January 1834 Washington County, Indiana This is as far as my research takes me. According to Claudia Denton (who got some info from David Phillips), Ithamar is the son of Peter Drake, b. ca 1753 some speculation as to place, d. before 1808. David Phillips or anyone else working this line besides Claudia, are you out there? Also note as the "funny" of the day, the information that I received from my family stated. Issac's (recall b. 1799) father was Joseph Drake who emigrated from England in September 1683. I'd like to hear from anyone who can help with this line. Thanks, Cynthia |
