My grandmother, Gladys Gabrielle DRAKE came to Australia as a war-bride in 1919 married to my grandfather Edward Martin JENSZ. Her brother Francis DRAKE also emigrated to Australia and lived out his days in Murtoa Victoria. He had three sons Leonard, Kenneth and Jeffrey (maybe Geoffrey).
My grandmother was born in London in 1900 and lived in Brixton until her journey to Australia. She died in Queensland in 1979 and is buried at Springvale, Victoria. My great grandmother Charlotte Emily DRAKE also came to Australia after my great grandfather's death. She died in the mid-1950's and is buried at Narrawong, Victoria.

My grandmother corresponded with her cousin Jim Drake until the mid 1960's. I am unsure where he was in England. I would appreciate any information regarding our links to the Drake family in England.

My girlfriend was born at the Royal Childrens Hospital in 1965. Her
mother was Carol Frances Drake, and Carol's father is the Leonard that
you refer to above. Leonard was married to a Miriam and they had four
children, Maureen, Carol, Terry and Jeffrey. Carol gave birth in 1965
and named her daughter Penny Anne Drake but put her up for adoption. I
am trying to find out who her father was.

Don't know how to help you. Must be websites or agencies that can point you in the right direction. No clues on Penny's birth certificate???

After further research I have found my great grandfather's details. He was Frank Drake and lived in London. He was born in Lambeth England in 1871 and died in London in 1918. I have no further information. He married Charlotte Emily Parsons Born Bristol 1872. She arrived in Australia as Charlotte Emily Drake in 1919 on the "Berrima" which was the ship which brought my grandfather and grandmother to Australia. Charlotte Drake died in February 1955 and is buried at the Narrawong cemetery. I am unsure when Francis Drake my great uncle from Murtoa came to Australia but he had three sons Leonard, who is buried at Murtoa, Jeffrey, who is also buried at Murtoa and Kenneth whose other details I don't know. Leonard's wife Lorna is also buried in Murtoa. I went to see a few years ago and she told me that her son David was still under care as he had been in a care home since he was a child.
I do not know anything about the rest of the family.

Frank Drake was born in London in 1897 and was named Francis Drake not Frank Drake. These details are directly from the register of Birth Deaths and Marriages. He Married Ethel Maude Hackett in Dec 1922 in Lambeth, London England.

Frank was my great uncle and his father was simply Frank and was born in Lambeth England in 1871. Frank senior was a house painter and his father John Drake was a journeyman carpenter and builder and his sons were all in the building trade. John was born in Devon in 1843. Uncle Frank's mother was Charlotte Emily Parsons and she was born in Bristol in 1872. She was a lovely lady who was bedridden when I was a child and, as my parents lived with her and my grandparents, I was close to her before she died when I was just 4 years old. Despite my young age I remember her and her lilting West Country accent when she read stories to us whilst we sat or lay on her bed.

I am the son of Maureen Judith Stephens, nee DRAKE. My grandfather was Len F Drake of Murtoa - I would be grateful to hear if any other relatives are attempting to 'do' the family tree. I am also in contact with the Radford lineage from the Jensz family. Also have information on Miriam 'Bub' Drakes' lineage.
