Hi Roy, I have read your message regarding the Singleton Families. I am the grand-daughter of Zillah Beattie the thirteenth child of James Beattie and Mary Jane Dugen/Duggan. James was the son of David Beattie and he and his brother William Beattie came our from Ireland (County Tyrone) and established farms at Boggy Flat which backed on to Glennies Creek. Our family intermarried with the Long, Thrift, Thornley, McGowan Stubbs, Sim, Wood, and Parmeter families. I hope you may find this of interest. Please do not hestitate to contact me if you would like to know more about my family. I dont think any of the existing family members would object. I am attaching a map indicating the location of the farms.
Regards, Julie Wilson |

Hello Julie. This is great info. Zillah was my 2nd cousin twice removed so if you are her grand-daughter this would make you my 4th cousin. I spend a lot of time doing family research but have only started concentrating on the beattie line over the past few years. My mother was Shirley Cuthbertson Beattie, daughter of William Cuthbertson Beattie who was the son of James Cuthbertson Beattie and Sarah Stubbs. Would love to hear from you. Regards Bronwyn Williams. |
