PLANS FOR A FAMILY RE-UNION QUEEN'S BIRTHDAY LONG WEEKEND

7-8-9 JUNE 2003

TO ALL DESCENDANTS OF RICHARD AND SARAH ALCORN FROM SUSAN GILLESPIE-LAWRIE DAUGHTER OF ROB LAWRIE WHO WITH MANY OTHER WELL INFORMED ALCORN DESCENDANTS COMPILED A RESEARCH REGISTER COVERING NINE GENERATIONS OF ALCORNS IN AUSTRALIA. ROB LAWRIE PASSED AWAY ON 9TH OCTOBER 1998 AND IT IS IN HIS MEMORY THAT I CELEBRATE THE OCCASION WITH YOU.

Enclosed herewith is a simple certificate which celebrates the arrival of Richard and Sarah Alcorn to

New South Wales on 11th March 2003, 200years ago. A short history is also enclosed relating to the WHY AND WHEREFORE concerning their arrival in New South Wales; a Family Tree-1st and 2nd generations only - and a map of Windsor showing St Matthews Anglican Church;,the Church Hall; McQuade Park and importantly if you are visiting the area, roads leading into the town of Windsor. I have also included a map of Singleton. Perhaps you could photocopy and then distribute the certificate and papers to other family members.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR ALCORN FAMILY REUNION 7-8-9 JUNE 2003

REUNION AT WINDSOR ON SUNDAY 8th JUNE 2003

VENUE: 12 NOON-3PM: St. Matthews Anglican Church Hall which is across Greenway Cr.from St

Matthews Anglican Church. The church is on Moses Street off Richmond Road .Windsor. (Note there is a catholic church with the same name) McQuade Park is on the right as you turn into Moses St. Turn left off Moses into Greenway Cr. and the Hall is on the right near the Rectory. Parking beside Hall.

BRING.-SANDWICHES/PICNIC LUNCH. There are tables and chairs and toilet facilities in Mc Quade Park

There are.tables and chairs in the Hall for eating inside and for the display of Family History material. Tea and Coffee will be available in the Hall. Takeaway food shops are not close at hand. Wear a name tag please

SIGHTSEEING: You will be able to visit_the Church Cemetery nearby and the graves of Richard and

Sarah (back right hand comer when facing the front of the church) and other Alcorn graves . Also the site of the original land grant to Sarah in 1803.The Historical Museum in Thompson Square and many other Historical sights will also be open . Band music and Craft Markets are also a regular feature Sundays So you can stay at the reunion just as long as it suits you and then move on.. Closing times are 4pm.

REUNIONS AT SINGLETON SATURDAY 7th JUNE AND/OR MONDAY 9th' JUNE 2003.

VENUE: 12NOON- 3PM: Singleton Historical Museum Burdekin Park Cnr Elizabeth and Bourke Sts, the Park is also bounded by George and Hunter St on the other sides. The Museum will be open from l-4pm on both the Saturday and Monday when I will be there to meet with you. Street parking around the Park.

BRING SANDWICHES/PICNIC LUNCH. There are tables and chairs and toilet facilities in the Park. Tea and coffee are available at the Museum. Take away food and cold drinks are nearby. Wear a name tag please.

SIGHTSEEING:Family graves in Singleton and Jerrys Plains can be visited and Hotels run by Richard II and Edward I. The Family History Centre open Saturday afternoon 1pm. There is much to see including wineries.
