Sarah Mason and Joseph Huff lineage
Boy I love the mysteries and surprises in genealogy. My 3x great grandmother Lucy Mason m James Chilcott in 1840, he died very young leaving a daughter to the marriage - Sophia Eliza Chilcott. Lucy married a second time to a George Moody in 1846, then the next time I come across this family is when Sophia Eliza Chilcott marries Edward Drake in Melbourne in 1860 and because Sophia has brought him as a dowry, a farm called Oak Park, Glennies Creek, New south Wales, they are in the Singleton district by 1862 and I have all the details to the present.
The Moodys must have gone to Victoria with the Huff family, as Lucys sister Sarah Mason married Joseph Huff in Parramatta and the same Huff family had 6 children in Victoria and going by research most died young.
